Teaching offers opportunities for creativity, continuous learning, and a strong sense of community involvement which can be especially beneficial for women who also want to balance familial responsibilities. Marie Jankowski : Marie Jankowski is a high school math teacher at Walter Panas HS in Westchester NY. At SUNY Albany she majored in Mathematics and minored in Education. Mrs. Jankowski then got her masters in mathematics at Lehman College. According to Mrs. Jankowski, being a high school teacher is rewarding. Since many students struggle with math, building confidence and helping to facilitate learning is her favorite part of her job. “follow your passion and don’t be afraid to change your path. I started college wanting to be an engineer or physicist, but after a year I wasn’t interested in the courses. So I quickly changed my path, made up a few classes and graduated on time. Helping students who just don’t understand the math is the best” If you want to know more feel free to reach out to Marie Jankowski, Mjankowski@lakelandschools.org
