A nursing major studies healthcare and patient care. Nursing majors learn how to treat various patients, learn about the human body (health), administer medication, and work with doctors. Nursing is very hands-on and people focused. After graduating and passing a license exam, nursing majors can work as registered nurses (RNs) in hospitals or clinics, nurses in schools or community health, or specialized nursing (ICU, pediatrics, etc). It is also important to note that many colleges/universities have separate nursing programs and may require a separate application directly to the nursing school rather than the institution as a whole.
