Danielle Schenkel: Mrs. Schenkel is a director of channel partnership, currently working at Isolved, and got her bachelor's degree at SUNY Albany in New York. Her concentrations were communications/business. Mrs. Schenkel has been in sales for over 20 years, selling directly while obtaining various leadership positions. Recently she led the National Channel Partnership Team. Mrs. Schenkel describes her job as, “sales requires the ability to think strategically, establishing mutually beneficial relationships for both parties. Cross functional partnerships internally are crucial, as is understanding the needs of our individual stakeholders. Sales often has high pressure and is very metric driven, so you need to be prepared for that type of environment if you’re considering working in that field. It is also an exciting, fast paced and constantly changing environment where you are always meeting new people and have endless earning potential.” Additionally, she advises girls, “Take time to understand your strengths and weaknesses, as well as what it is that gives you fulfillment and drives you. This is important, as all careers will have their share of positives as well as negatives so it’s really important to have those drivers provide a sense of fulfillment. This way work won’t feel like a hamster wheel each day. Also don’t be afraid to go outside your comfort zone, for example- you may not be totally comfortable or public speaking right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t practice and get great at it. Don’t let fear control any decisions you make!” If you want further information feel free to contact Danielle Schenkel through her email danielle.schenkel@gmail.com
